BANGKOK DAY 5: PART 2

Sights along the way...

The entrance to the temple. This temple is also the royal temple where the king comes for prayers.

These are Chinese inspired statues, as Chinese people had come to Bangkok years ago and made them. Several of these can be found around the temple entrances.

This board included some important pictures of visitors to the temple, including recently the Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, and their meeting with the current King.

A picture of all the past and present King/s.

Entrance to the where the Reclining Buddha is located.

The soles of the Buddha wear decorated with mother of the pearl....

In Thailand 108 is a lucky number, so for 20 baht you get the chance to buy these coins that you drop into 108 pots close to the exit of the temple.  It is said to bring good luck, and you can ask for something as well.

Counting my blessings and asking for more.....

Love this statue that I found on the foot of the Buddha...

Outside the temple. The area is big and has other smaller temples and towers that were build for the past kings.
*Notice my scarf around my neck now....... My dress was a little short for the temple, so for respect I had to put it around my waist.

These, behind us, are tower tat were build for four generations of kings that were alive at the same time, the youngest being only 3 years old.

Another Buddha at the temple where others go to worship.

A view of the temple from above (as you can observe its its a vast area)and a little more information about the temple.
